Train Station
While entering a train station in Malaysia’s many terminals, I noticed a slim-framed man sitting on the ground at the entrance just before the kiosk. These kiosks were used to select a destination and pay for train fare. He had a receptacle for donations and stated he was hungry. Our small team of three knelt and spoke to him about his current condition and made alms but continued to talk about his future state. He said that he has been unemployed and has sat there for days to obtain enough money to eat and live. After some back and forth conversation, this man agreed to come along and be part of our teaching ministry service the next day. After receiving the teaching that day, the man decided to believe in a better future and was water baptized. He was so excited about coming out of the baptism with a newfound faith and trust that he will not have to be the same. We learned that this man’s name was John and he left inspired to change his circumstances. The rest of that week, we either arrived or departed from that train station and never saw him sitting there again. Support for project Hunger helps the Johns and families in our world to have a better tomorrow.
